These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Costic ("the app"), a personal finance tracking application. By downloading, installing, or using Costic, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Costic is a tool for tracking your own personal finances — accounts, transactions, budgets, debts, and savings goals — primarily on your own device. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a financial institution, or a licensed financial advisor, and it does not move, hold, or have access to your actual money in any bank or card account. Costic only records the numbers you choose to enter.
Costic shows you summaries, charts, and trends based on data you enter. Nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it isn't a substitute for professional advice. You're solely responsible for the financial decisions you make, whether or not you used Costic to help think about them.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter into Costic, and for keeping your device secure (e.g. using a device lock and, if you choose to enable it, Costic's own App Lock). By default, all your data lives only on your device — if you lose your device, uninstall the app, or otherwise lose that local data without a backup, we cannot recover it for you. See the Privacy Policy for details on the optional Cloud Backup feature and how it can help with this.

Cloud Backup is entirely opt-in and off by default. To use it, you sign in with your Google account or a one-time email link, and you must be at least 13 years old. Once signed in, a copy of your local data is stored with our infrastructure provider, sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. You can sign out or delete your cloud backup at any time from the Cloud Backup screen in the app, and request deletion of your account by email — see the Privacy Policy for details. We make reasonable efforts to keep this service available and your data intact, but as with any backup service, we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and you should not treat it as your only copy of important financial records.
Costic is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate — always double-check anything financially important against your actual bank/account records.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or financial loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Costic — including data loss from an uninstall, a lost device, or a Cloud Backup issue. Because Costic is a free personal tool with no purchase price, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us for the app, which for the current version is zero.
The Costic app, its design, logo, and code are owned by Fineo. You're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You don't get any ownership rights in the app itself — just in the data you enter, which remains yours.
We may update Costic (adding, changing, or removing features) and these Terms over time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, note it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You can stop using Costic at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the optional Cloud Backup service (with reasonable notice where practical) if needed, without affecting your local, on-device data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law in your own country grants you rights these Terms cannot override.
